Trying not to sound like Buzz Lightyear! :)

Anyhow, March is pretty full, but if you need something, please call... I am photographing Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, KISS, Kid Rock, PWA Wrestling and of course gearing up for Easter! That means live bunnies and chicks! April is booking strong and I want to say THANK YOU! June is getting booked for graduations and event photography. Oh, before I forget - Mother's Day - we will have a special promotion lined up after Easter! Pet photos will be coming - we are going to give to charities on that note! Father's Day and trains... Life is good. Count your blessings!

I am thrilled to announce that Operation Love Reunited has selected me to be a part of their photographer group. There are only about 1,000 worldwide that participate in this volunteer program.

This LINK will take you to the program information.(http://www.oplove.org/blog/about/)

To make a long story short, if you or a family member is about to be deployed, your family member has been deployed or is about to come home, please contact me.

I will waive my session fee and provide your military person with a 4x6 album. In these photos, we can use dog tags, a portion of the uniform, a flag and get creative. The memories will last a lifetime and the photo album will be treasured...

Certain criteria apply for each different session and if you do not meet the criteria, I will offer my services at a discounted rate.

Popular for servicemen already deployed are boudoir photos... family photos... These can be on location at your house, a park, or my home studio.

The Pride Family

I met this family a year ago at Scout Bar Houston. Ken is the drummer of a very successful band called The Hectic... (www.thehectic.com). The Hectic are the second band I ever photographed professionally. Ken and Jayne have such a chemistry and their children are great people. We spent an hour at Hermann Park and had a fun time! We ended up with 30 or so photos, but here are a few...

Policy change for 2011

You will get a websize copy of the photos you order from our session via email.

(If we have 30 photos from our sessions to preview and order various sizes from 10 of the photos, you will receive the websized files to share online of those 10 photos.)

Thank you.

It's the end and a beginning!

I started my business professionally in February, 2010. So many people were willing to help me take the steps to achieve what I believe is my calling. Trial and error, classes and life lessons prevailed and my skill is so much better for all of it. In 2010, I began freelancing with Examiner.com (www.thehoustonmusicreview.com), The Scene Magazine (www.thescenemagazine.com) and Live 'N Loud Magazine (www.livenloudmagazine.com). I have also photographed a wedding and numerous family portraits. In 2011, I want to expand in boudoir, maternity, newborn and anything else I possibly - Seniors! I knew there was something else! :) I am accepting credit cards now and will have a huge site overhaul.

I have learned that taking photos and handing over cd's ARE NOT the way to do business. That's what I thought at first. People can pick their own labs, blah, blah... Oh man did certain local labs BLOW IT!!! SO I offer printing at a very affordable price. I will never be that $500 a family portrait session photographer. It's a lot of money. I offer the same services as those photographers and the same 100 year Kodak Endura paper too.

Myabe a 30 minute photo session wasn't really utilized. I still offer it for quick mini sessions though...

Anyhow, the future is bright for 2011.

I am looking into a charity to work with - to give back in my community. I looked at Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, but that isn't for me. Might look into Oplove - soldier stuff - but also maybe for charity for girl's self esteem...

Thanks for reading!

Erase The Virus: Houston's Own Industrial Metal Band...

Etv08121002fb

You are either prepared for a musical assault on your senses. Or you’re not. And if you are not…
GET OUT OF THE WAY.
Clear Lake’s (Houston) own industrial/techno/metal rock act ERASETHEVIRUS (“ETV”) is not for the weak. You are going to have to hold your own whether you are in the heart of the pit, standing in front of the stage, or anywhere else within the venue for that matter and let the music take you into ETV’s world…
It’s a Wonderland unlike anything Alice could have imagined.
The five unique personalities that bring it all together are what makes ETV an “act” rather than simply a “band”....

MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT's Houston Tour Stop Was Pretty Kool

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult was all about the music.

There wasn’t much talking and really no gimmicks when the legendary band performed their set during the Sextreme Ball Tour 2010. It was just a really good time with some industrial dance songs that invoked so many memories for those in attendance at Scout Bar Houston. Almost more like a family reunion than what the tour title promised. (And I was kind of glad about that...)

But for those who may want to argue the previous statement, I will happily express that MLWTTKK was indeed an orgy for our ears

FLICKR set:

LORDS OF ACID: Still Royalty Headlining The Sextreme Ball 2010

In 1995, there was the Sextancy Ball.

In 2010, there is now the Sextreme Ball…(well, WAS...Sadly, the tour has ended now.)

In 15 years, the world has changed so much. Some changes have been for the better and some have not. I have heard the saying “the more things change, the more they stay the same” and never really understood it – until now.

Lords of Acid have not been inside the U.S. in eight years and the time between the Sextancy and Sextreme Balls is 15 years. Over the years, the line-up in the band has changed, but the music hasn’t.

The Lords of Acid are as relevant now as they were “back then”. This tour proves it and has been performed in sold out venues all over the nation...

VANILLA ICE... I Got To Interview Him... Protection Needed At His Concerts!!!

(This is part 1 of a 2-part article on Vanilla Ice)

I know a lot of things…

Like, I know the summer time is hot in Houston.

And now I know to never go to a Vanilla Ice show without protection.

Walking into Mainstage on Main last week, it was dark and cool. Time for Vanilla Ice’s sound check! It was routine…checking speakers, getting the full sound out of the drums, lighting… but what made me sit up and really take notice was that voice coming out from behind the soundboard. The voice was Vanilla Ice himself. He was very hands on – even getting on the drums. Someone commented, “Man, he can play!”

The professionalism I saw during sound check continued as we sat down for an interview. I still get nervous conducting interviews, but he was a normal, nice businessman who also happens to be a musician, car enthusiast, father, husband, and a tattoo lover among many other things (all good) and the nervousness subsided...

(This is Part 2 of 2 articles on Vanilla Ice.)

Did I tell you that Vanilla Ice’s new album “W T F” will also have a bit of country and acoustic sounds in addition to the techno and hip hop?

I still need to tell you why I needed protection…

Once again, keep reading...

Ok. Mainstage on Main was packed. BC Carrion and The Crisis had just played and now we were ready for Vanilla Ice. Everyone was crowded around the stage. At 12:20am, the Iceman cometh! Haha! Vanilla Ice was onstage with his drummer (whose real name was Clint Eastwood), his dj and his…clown....

MY DARKEST DAYS Debut Self-Titled CD Review... OMG! (Audio included)

Canadian alternative rock band My Darkest Days’ debut self-titled CD has been a long time in the making and proves, without a doubt, to be well worth the wait…

In fact, when the CD drops on September 21st, the diehard MDD fans that sat in dimly lit Toronto area bars back in the day to support the band will be very excited and most likely feel bittersweet. They knew then what everyone else has been finding out recently…

My Darkest Days is an extremely hard working and talented band who deserve the respect and international recognition they have been receiving in 2010.

The CD is packed with new music, updated versions of older songs and a very cool cover of Duran Duran’s early 1990’s hit “Come Undone” (with singer Jessie James). The first single that has been topping the charts in both Canada and the U.S. is “Pornstar Dancing”. You will find the radio version of this anthem type song as well as a second version featuring Ludacris on the CD.

As for the rest of the songs, there is not one disappointment. MDD’s music is “high energy rock and roll”, but the ballads are crowd-pleasers also. MDD says “half of our song lyrics are about partying and having a good time while the other half deal with relationships and life”.

“Save Me” says “You’re the only one who matters…only your love can save me…” The music and vocals on this song make it a favorite. Immediately when the “thump, thump, thump” of the bass drum is heard, a sense of urgency takes hold of you from within for the entire song...
